Video learnings.

So I guess the natural step from taking photographs is to shoot video. I’ve been dabbling with some simple video clips and publishing them for a few years now but the step-up from snap-shoot video to even a semi-decent clip, I’m finding, is just huge.

In addition to the obvious exposure/composition challenges, the lighting challenge is enormous. Plus, of course, there’s sound. Sound is the biggest added dimension that just throws everything out. Noise that is virtually inaudible under normal circumstances becomes an overpowering boom when you shoot video.

But hey, I’m not about whinging, I’m about learning.

I’ve decided that I’m going to invest some time this summer in learning about shooting, producing and publishing video. I’ll try and publish some examples on this site but will more than likely point you to other locations. My learnings, I’ll publish here.
